Welcome Members and Applicants,
It has been a very long time since a "special notice" has been sent out to the entire membership of the IJDG and this is indeed a VERY special occasion for one!!!
The unveiling of the IJDG's new website has become a reality!!! We have so many new projects in the works it is hard to know where to begin. Some of our plans and current projects include:

In order to get the members who haven't been around the Joolcrafting forums for a while up to speed, we are including a list of QUICK LINKS below with a short description above each one to help you learn how to navigate the website.
The plan is for sometime in the near future to direct all IJDG correspondence and chat to the new site while the Yahoo Joolcrafting venue will still be used for some email and special announcements only.
Please drop in...sign in , and /or SIGN UP and start to play with all the fun "TOYS", BELLS, AND WHISTLES that the NEW IJDG has to offer.
There is no wrong way to do any of this and please don't hesitate if you make a mistake to just let Brea or Sandra know and we will make it good. The very small learning curve is well worth the perks and fun waiting for you!! We are all winging it together..... believe us!!
A community is only as good as it's participation and now is a super time for lurkers to all come out of lurkdom at once. This is a new beginning for every one of us and a huge opportunity to gain the extra exposure and recognition for our hard earned work as designers and craftsmen.

Background: The Art Nouveau movement suggested, for perhaps the first time in human history, that jewelry need not act as a 3-dimensional bank statement. Design became paramount, and the medium was no longer the message — instead, the messenger was the message — and personal adornment became the punctuation.
The desire to adorn ourselves may well be innate. What is the appeal? Does the cool feel of metal and the glitter of stones reach through civilization and into the subconscious brain, reminding of days when the far-off glitter of light on water meant survival? Of the days when a bear claw hung on leather thong spoke of physical prowness and great courage?
Our focus is on jewelry as personal adornment and personal statement — to be enjoyed for its design. The design is of greater importance than the intrinsic value of the components.
Membership is free at this time, and is open to Artisans who design and make Bridge Jewelry and Fine Jewelry. Membership consists of joining and participating in the Joolcrafting mailing list.
