My name is Mona Hair … Soon to be Mona Moffatt. Jewelry design has been a hobby of mine that has moved into a business over the past eight years. I am also a registered nurse specializing in cardiovascular surgery. After a day of open heart surgery there is nothing more relaxing or exciting for me than to rush home to my design table. Compositions of various jewels continuously circle through my head. I dream in jewelry. I awaken at night to run to my design table moving an idea to reality. I study continously in the field of vintage costume jewelry and collect avidly. This experience has given me an opportunity to study composition of many world famous designers and has assisted me in resolving mechanical composition problems I have had with some of my more complex designs.

Combining the history of jewelry making with my dreams of new and different ideas has brought great satisfaction This enjoyable study of vintage jewelry also continously improves the quality of my own expressions in wearable art.
